January was full of fun and had me traveling to London with Margo Cilker and Sera Cahoone to celebrate UK/Americana Music Week. And what a week it was. Margo was nominated for International Album of the Year (along with Jason Isbell, Allison Russell, Drew Holcomb) and it was a thrill to be with her (and producer Sera Cahoone) in person in London as we watched Alison Russell accept the award from her home in Los Angeles. I know you’ve heard me talk about Margo’s music, but if you haven’t yet had a chance to hear her, please check her out here. I have had the joy & honor of playing bass on both of her full-length records which are available everywhere you listen to or buy music! She’s also touring in March & April and you can see her schedule here: https://www.margocilkermusic.com
February saw a lot of work for and travel with Roots of Empathy and I’m currently writing from beautiful Maui where I am frolicking in the waves and with the whales and with my brother Shane, Carolyn and Eva, lots of friends, and my beautiful Maui family.
And I’m beside myself that the stars have aligned with this visit and I get to play a show this Thursday, February 29 with my old Maui band, The Voodoo Suns, featuring Anastasia Gilliam and Nils Rosenblad. Cannot wait for that reunion!

My next TWEENS/TEENS YOGA SERIES starts Wednesday, November 8 through 8 Limbs YogaCenters- Phinney Ridge.
This 6-week series will run Wednesdays, November 8-thru December 20, from 4-5pm.
IN PERSON ONLY offering lots of time for creating more community within our sweet group.
Guiding these Tweens and Teens in the practice of yoga – through breath, movement, and conversation – is one of the most rewarding and meaningful things I do. I am devoted to my own practice of yoga & meditation and enjoy sharing that passion along with some of the tools that we can access to help students become more aware of their own bodies, thoughts and emotions.
Developing the practice of yoga as a kind of ‘Superpower’ can allow these 10-14 year-olds an opportunity to find more ease and more joy in a fast-paced and complex world where technology and a lack of connection with others and with nature can sometimes make us feel stressed and alienated. There is a big focus (as requested by students) on exploring ways in which we can slow down and relax. We also have a lot of fun and there is space for connecting as a group where everyone is welcome and included.
