I will keep this short. Many of you know that my beautiful brother Shane died powerfully exactly one week ago today in NYC. His beloved wife Carolyn and I were with him during his transition. We are blessed to have known and to have loved Shane. And we feel loved and supported in our grieving.
While our hearts are full of love, they are also broken and we are working to tend to them. I have not been playing much live music, but I will play joyfully and soulfully for Shane this weekend, with the inimitable Margo Cilker and our many wonderful bandmates (Forrest Van Tuyl, Sera Cahoone, Jeremy Ferrara, Charles Wicklander), who are also my dear friends.
Both nights are CLOSE TO SOLD OUT. But there are a handful of tickets and more info here:
Margo Cilker – Friday February 21 & Saturday February 22 – THESE TICKETS WILL SELL OUT – here’s a link to the first night: https://www.ticketweb.com/event/margo-cilker-w-jonny-fritz-tractor-tickets/13996953?pl=tractor&REFID=clientsitewp
The only other show I have this month is one I am really looking forward to playing (as I sub for the infamous Keith Lowe):
Braly/Sangster –February 28 – The Shanty Tavern (On Lake City Way & 90th Street). This is one of Seattle’s oldest and coolest Roadside Taverns bringing community and good vibes together whenever they are open (weekends only). I’ll be sitting in for Keith Lowe with my good friends Johnny Sangster, Leslie Braly and fellow Torontonian(!) Kevin Warner. We’re opening for Steve Aliment & Annie O’Neill.
