Welcome to this site that I hope can answer your questions – whether you’re looking to book a music lesson, hire me as a teaching artist in your school, or inquiring about me as a gigging and recording bassist.
I have always loved music and began playing piano at age 6. I studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music (Toronto) and started playing electric bass as a teenager as a complement to playing flute in high school band and in a local professional symphony orchestra.
In addition to my education at the Royal Conservatory of Ontario, I am an Honor’s graduate of the Musician’s Institute (Los Angeles) where I studied privately with the legendary Bob Magnusson and with Gary Willis, Jeff Berlin (among others), and received the Yamaha award for Human Relations (1993).
I have toured, performed and recorded in the United Stated, Canada and Europe. I currently reside and work in Seattle, WA.
I am fluent in many styles of music – from Blues, Folk, Rock and Country to Latin, Funk and Jazz. I’ve backed countless singer/songwriters and have been honored to work with great musicians and play in bands for the past 25 years.
Music has accompanied me from a very early age and continues to inspire and guide me. And my daily yoga and yoga teaching practice keeps me sane in a pretty crazy and busy world. Teaching has come naturally as an extension of being a student for so long. I love to share my knowledge, my passion and my joy of music with kids and adults!
