Downpilot Returns! 3/15 Tractor Tavern

15 Mar

Dear Lovers of Live Music, I’m really, really excited about this mid-week show:

I can’t believe that it’s been over four years since the last local Downpilot show – but it has been.  And we’re back after some interesting times…

The incredibly talented, one and only Paul Hiraga has reconvened the band (Jeff Brown, Anne Marie Ruljancich, Mike Musburger, Me) to celebrate the release of the new album, THE FORECAST, at our beloved Tractor Tavern.

And we’ll have freshly pressed Vinyl and CDs available ahead of the official 3/17 release date.

Our good friends the Danny Newcomb band will be kicking off the evening, so it should be a great night out. Please come out and support live music!

NEW TWEEN/TEEN YOGA Series starts TOMORROW

13 Jan

I am happy to announce my next TWEENS/TEENS YOGA SERIES starts tomorrow  through 8 Limbs Yoga Centers- Phinney Ridge.

This 6-week series will run on Wednesdays, January 11-thru February 15, from 4-5pm. And this one’s IN PERSON ONLY offering lots of time for creating more community within our sweet group.

Guiding these Tweens and Teens in the practice of yoga – through breath, movement, and conversation – is one of the most rewarding and meaningful things I do.  I am devoted to my own practice of yoga & meditation and enjoy sharing that passion along with some of the tools that we can access to help students become more aware of their own bodies, thoughts and emotions.

Developing the practice of yoga as a kind of ‘Superpower’ can allow these 10-14 year-olds an opportunity to find more ease and more joy in a fast-paced and complex world where technology and a lack of connection with others and with  nature can sometimes make us feel stressed and alienated. There is a big focus (as requested by students) on exploring ways in which we can slow down and relax.  We also have a lot of fun and there is space for connecting as a group where everyone is welcome and included and unique.

You can register here: https://8limbsyoga.com/offering/tween-yoga-series/– and if you can’t make it tomorrow, you may start next week!

You can call or text or email me if you have questions.

And please forward this to others you know who have kids aged 10-14 who may like to participate!

With gratitude and best wishes for this upcoming New Year of 2023.

SMooCH Show Saturday Night

30 Nov

Well, I had been looking forward to attending the big SMooCH (Seattle Musicians for Children’s Hospital) show this year, not to play (as I did last year with Shaina Shepherd opening for Modest Mouse), but as a fan in the audience to support this incredible event.

Sadly, this year’s headliner, Grouplove, had to cancel due to Covid – so our BeatleConcert band plus special guests will be stepping in!

My dear friend Sera Cahoone and band will perform during the VIP portion of the evening and the GA show will feature the BeatleConcert All Stars with very special guests (stay tuned for announcements of those guests).  And Rachel Flotard and Visqueen will be reuniting and performing!

Started by Pete and Brandy Nordstrom, both musicians, in 2012 after their infant son received life-saving treatment from Children’s Hospital, SMooCH has generated millions of dollars for uncompensated care.  General Admission tickets are now just $25 so grab yours before they sell out.
WHEN:  Saturday, December 3, 8:30pm
WHERE: The Showbox in the Market
WHAT: SMooCH, featuring Sera Cahoone, Visqueen, BeatleConcert All Stars with Very Special Guests
MORE:  21+, $25 for GA Tickets:
https://smoochforkids.com/

I hope to see some of you out to celebrate this fabulous and fun annual show to benefit Children’s Hospital.
